Calphalon – Where the story begins …

Calphalon’s history began over 40 years ago in Perrysburg, Ohio (USA) as a small metal spinning business. Known as the Commercial Aluminium Company, founder Ronald Kasperzak, aimed to expand and upgrade Commercial Aluminium’s limited line of aluminium cookware for the foodservice industry.

Calphalon’s first revolution in cookware …

In 1968, Commercial Aluminium was the first company to create hard anodised cookware by adapting the technology developed by NASA for the aerospace industry. This new line of hard anodised cookware was called CALPHALON!

Calphalon’s commitment to consumers …

In 1975, the Calphalon line of cookware was launched into the retail market. For the first time, consumers had access to the superior cooking performance and durability previously enjoyed only by professional chefs.

In 2001, Calphalon opened the Calphalon Culinary Center in Chicago and have since opened a second center in Toronto. The Calphalon Culinary Center is a place for home chefs to enjoy hands-on culinary instruction in an interactive and professionally-equipped environment.

Contemporary Nonstick

In 2003, Calphalon introduced Contemporary Nonstick, a cookware range that is versatile, stylish and features uniquely shaped vessels ideal for cooks who love to entertain!

Calphalon One

2004 sees Calphalon leading the way again with ‘infused anodised’, the most revolutionary new technology in cookware. Calphalon One Infused Anodised revolutionises cooking with a new surface that combines the qualities of both traditional metal and non-stick cooking surfaces.

Today Calphalon is manufactured in Toledo, Ohio (USA) and is recognised as one of the leading cookware brands in the world. Calphalon continues to lead the way in innovation, product development, quality and their commitment to enhancing the home chef’s cooking experience.

Contemporary Nonstick- IH

2007 sees Calphalon upgrade its contemporary Nonstick line of cookware-that can now be used on all stovetops including induction.
