Food sometimes sticks in my Calphalon One pan. I have seen demonstrations of omelettes and eggs slide around and flip right out of the pan. How do I achieve this?
Follow these simple steps for perfect results every time:
- Take the chill off foods before cooking. Always remove food from the refrigerator 10 minutes before you intend to cook. Ice-cold food is more likely to stick to a hot pan. We also recommend patting your meat, chicken or fish dry with a paper towel before cooking to remove any excess proteins from the food.
- Pre-heat your pan but be careful not to pre-heat too long or on too high a heat. Calphalon One cookware is very heat-efficient and high heat will quickly cause food to stick and burn. Unless you are bringing water to a boil, you really don’t need high heat.
- Add a small amount of oil or butter to your pre-heated pan and allow the oil or butter to heat for a minute before adding your food.
- Keep your Calphalon One pan thoroughly clean, inside and out, for performance as well as appearance. Residue from previous cooking is a common cause of sticking (even on non-stick surfaces).
